Permanent makeup is also known as micropigmentation or permanent cosmetics.
Permanent makeup technicians use a hollow needle that releases color into a hole in your skin. Although pigment is applied to the top layer of skin only, the procedure may still sting -- just like it does when you get a tattoo.
You'll need to follow the after care instructions and avoid any picking or scratching. Your eyebrows will start to heal over, much like a tattoo, which might cause irritation but is totally normal.
In the next ten days or so your eyebrows will change color, might become flaky and look like they've faded but this is totally normal. They'll reveal their final color and shape after around 30 days. This can then be topped up at the second session.
The “tattooed” eyeliner typically lasts about a year, but sometimes can last up to 5 years. However, the pigment will eventually fade.
Swelling typically occurs in the first 24-48 hours after permanent eyeliner application, so this is the most crucial time to use ice packs on your eyes. This will help to reduce and eliminate swelling altogether.
You should never use an ice pack in one area for more than 10 minutes at a time, though.
Consequently, many people feel that the permanent eyeliner procedure causes some discomfort, but often not anywhere near the pain the person was anticipating. In the past, a few technicians used EMLA for their pre-procedure work. Permanent lip work is the most painful procedure but well worth the effort.
Permanent makeup can be removed using laser and non laser techniques.
We're experts at removals and covering the areas of eyebrows, eyeliner and lips. Migration of eyeliner can also be treated very effectively.
